Commissioner Dennis Hill was appointed by Governor Kay Ivey on Friday, November 18, 2022. Commissioner Hill took office as County Commissioner of District 3 on November 28, 2022. On November 5, 2024 he was elected to a full term in office, and took office on November 13, 2024.
Commissioner Hill graduated from Tallassee High School. After high school he attended John Patterson Technical College where he earned an Associate Degree in Welding Technology. He went on to receive a degree in Criminal Justice from Troy University. Commissioner Hill has been involved in law enforcement for over 30 years. He has served as a state Police Officer, retiring as a lieutenant with the Alabama ABC Board. He has also worked for more than 10 years with the Elmore County Sheriff's Office.
Commissioner Dennis Hill has been involved with many agencies and boards in Elmore County. Dennis has served as President of the Elmore County Partnership for Children. He has been on the Board for many groups in Elmore County: Alabama Peace Officer Association, Alabama PBA and Edgewood Academy. Commissioner Hill has also served on the Elmore County Children's Policy Council and served as a Sunday School Teacher at Santuck Baptist Church.
Commissioner Hill is married to Kimberly Gray. They have seven grown children: Joshua, Justin, Jacob, Katie, Austin, Cody, and Noah. Dennis and Kimberly are members at Santuck Baptist Church.
