Commissioner Lewis Jackson began serving her second term on November 13, 2024. She was previously elected on November 11, 2020, becoming the youngest person ever elected to the Elmore County Commission.
Commissioner Jackson is a Wetumpka native and a graduate of Wetumpka High School. She graduated magna cum laude from the University of Alabama in 2011. She then obtained her Juris Doctor, from Jones School of Law at Faulkner University in 2014. She is the founder and owner of the Lewis Law Firm, PC located in Wetumpka, Alabama. As a general practitioner throughout central Alabama, she specializes in criminal defense, family law, and juvenile dependency cases.
Commissioner Jackson is active in the community and involved with numerous organizations, including serving as President of the Elmore County Bar Association. In 2022 she was appointed by Governor Kay Ivey to serve on the Alabama Local Government Training Institute. She serves as the Chairman of the Elmore County Mental Health Task Force and the Health Care Task Force, the Elmore County representative for MidSouth RC & D, is a representative of Minority Steering Committee, President of the Elmore County Emanon Group, member of the Elmore County Children’s Policy Council, and a founding member of the West Elmore Lions Club. She is also a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, Omega Chi Omega Chapter, where she serves as the financial secretary.
Commissioner Jackson is married to Regis Jackson, also of Wetumpka, and together they have 3 children Brayden, Raelyn, and Riley. She is a lifelong member of Liberty Hill Baptist Church where she serves as the church secretary and is a member of the church choir. She also enjoys spoiling her sweet newborn baby boy, traveling, fishing, and participating in local theatre productions.
