The Elmore County Probate Office is under the direction of Judge Jimmy Stubbs. Judge Stubbs was elected to his current position in 1994. From 1975 until 1994, Judge Stubbs served as an Elmore County Commissioner representing District 3. Judge Stubbs is a member of the Alabama Probate Judge Association, Coosa Masonic Lodge 242, Chamber of Commerce, Alabama Antique Model A Club and serves on the Elmore County Community Action Board.
Judge Stubbs graduated from Wetumpka High School in 1958. After graduation, he accepted a position with the Elmore County Board of Education at the Bus Shop and worked there until 1975. He is married to the former Addie Arant and they have two children, Jimmy Stubbs and Jane Collier. He has five grandchildren, Jennifer, Morgan, Hunter, Amanda, and Wilson. Judge Stubbs is a member and active deacon of New Home Baptist Church. He enjoys antique cars, furniture, and antique collectibles. Much of his spare time is spent farming and raising sugar cane that he uses to make syrup for his annual syrup making and breakfast. |
